White Cross Support Dogs is a privately funded organisation aiming to provide support dogs to the disabled since 2000.
As we lack the funding that larger organisations receive through governmental grants our operations are dissimilar to that of larger support dog providers.
The main difference: we don’t provide trained dogs as the investment in each dog is too high when set against the chances of finding a proper matching client. We provide training, certification and support for “owned’ dogs as per the ADeu protocols.
This primarily means that WCSD doesn’t have to put up her dogs in kennels waiting for a new client to bond with. In our philosophy kennelling dogs whilst waiting for that new owner/cliënt isn’t what training and providing support dogs should be about.
